It has been too long since we have enjoyed our favorite venue at the AFI Silver. I can think of no better reason to come together than the AFI's special presentation of Chris Nolan's latest film in the 70mm format. It should be a great show!

Hello Everyone,
Movie Nightcap has received an invitation from TriStar Pictures to attend a special screening of their new film BABY DRIVER on Thursday, June 15 at 7:00 PM at Regal Gallery Place Stadium 14 in Washington, DC. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the filmmaker Edgar Wright (HOT FUZZ, SHAUN OF THE DEAD).
Here are a few details for the film:
Baby (Ansel Elgort) is a talented, young getaway driver who relies on the beat of his personal soundtrack to be the best in the game. When he meets the girl of his dreams (Lily James), he sees a chance to ditch his criminal life and make a clean getaway. But after being coerced into working for a crime boss (Kevin Spacey), Baby must face the music when a doomed heist threatens his life, love and freedom. The film stars Ansel Elgort, Lily James, Kevin Spacey with Jon Hamm and Jamie Foxx.

Join us for a fun night of movie banter and artistry with the The Unofficial Hand Lettering Society of Silver Spring (aka SS Letters).
So be sure to research your favorite movie quotes so that you, or a more talented calligrapher, can letter it for you to have for all time.
In true Movie Nightcap fashion, we will try to ensure that some adult beverages are on hand as well.
The AFI Silver is holding a great Jim Henson event series this month and it has been too long since we have been to this beloved film venue. The Muppets Take Manhattan is a lesser seen Muppet movie for me and I am excited to revisit this one and see how it stacks up.
After the movie we will grab some food and drinks and hangout.

It's been too long and we are excited to announce our first meetup for 2017! Let's kick things off with a fun outing to see the upcoming Lego Batman movie. I enjoyed the original Lego Movie quite a bit and am excited to see a light hearted take on one of my favorite characters.
We will meet inside the Regal in front of the Lego Batman theater around 7:00PM to grab seats. I would anticipate there being a decent crowd of families with this being opening night.

Come join us and celebrate the holidays in true Movie Nightcap fashion. On Monday, December 19th, the AFI Silver is offering a double feature of Gremlins & Krampus. Two ridiculous holiday movies that seem to be perfect when paired with good friends and good beer.
